Gallery Café - Hakushima Brunch

Kind and lovely people, delicious food, and wonderful vibes. Arguably the best breakfast and coffee I’ve ever had. They made sure our 4 year old had a good time as well.

Do yourself a favor and drop by here. Delicious food at very affordable price ranges and the sweetest owners (husband and wife) you'll find. It's a cozy and sweet little cafe shop that's very out of the way, so unless you're specifically looking for breakfast places, you won't find it. My wife and I got a breakfast set each with two cafe lattes, and we both loved the food and coffees. The owner also came to us to make small talk, asking where we're going next and trying to help us get there faster. A very sweet gesture that we didn't expect. Overall, we recommend this place if you want a relaxing and delicious breakfast served by the loveliest couple you'll find.

Wonderful little café run by a lovely and very welcoming old couple. I have a sweet tooth especially in the morning and the french toast set was perfect for breakfast ! The coffee was so good too! They also offered me to try a traditional matcha drink accompanied by a red bean sweet. Excellent!

When we got there they were trying to tell us that they weren’t serving food anymore. Luckily, my partner speaks Japanese. When they realized this they treated us like royalty! So they did end up serving us food and it was delicious. We ordered cappuccinos and they were really, really good! I’ve been in Japan for about a month and my partner has been here for 4 months and these were the best coffees we’ve both had in Japan! All in all, the elderly couple who own the Cafe are just absolutely lovely. The prices were really good as well.

Amazing place! The owners were incredibly kind and keen to share japanese culture with us. The food was tasty, the coffee was excellent, and the matcha was delicious. They bake the bear-shaped cookies the put on the cups on top of all of that the place is not expensive. 10/10

This was my favorite place to go when visiting the entire country of Japan. The sweet older couple who run the restaurant are the only two people who work there so they can only cater to a very small amount of people at a time. You need to get there really early to ensure you get a spot. They can only take small groups of up to 4. The wait is worth it and the service was amazing and heart warming. The food was the best food I’ve had and the couple were lovely. They were so nice and went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and even told us where to go visit during our stay. We even got to try a traditional Japanese drink while we were there. The meals are made with love and perfection. I would come back here every time if I could. It was the best experience in Japan. I would try this place if you can but be sure to get there early. Breakfast is 7am-10am. Be patient and be respectful because they are both the only people cooking and taking care of guests. I felt so loved with my meal.

This cafe is unmatched. The couple who run it are the sweetest people. We were in Hiroshima for three days and each morning we went here for breakfast. The food was delicious, and made with such care. The details, such as a little bear cookie that hangs off the rim of your drink is so cute! It's also a very affordable breakfast set (¥550-680). The atmosphere was great, and so calming. It was almost like a studio Ghibli movie. The music that plays is so nice and the decorating has been done with such care. We didn't know until the last day that the artwork displayed is actually because the space is used as a free art gallery for artists! The couple who run it are tremendously kind, and every morning after our meal, they would serve us a different Japanese traditional drink as a gift! They also have a little translator that they use to talk to you if they want to tell you something in detail which is really great, so make sure you have your google translate at the ready to translate whatever you want to say into Japanese! If I'm ever back in Hiroshima, I will definitely come back here again :)
